Government acquisitions

Government acquisitions are goods-, services- and construction contacts that a state, municipalities, municipal federations, the church, congregations, state owned corporations and other procurement departments that are named in procurement law, purchase outside of their own organization.
The Finnish government’s acquisitions are regulated in acquisition law. In the European Union acquisitions are regulated by acquisition directives.
The main principal in government acquisitions is openness, fairness and transparency.

When a public corporation makes acquisitions it has to make use of the existing competitive opportunities. Government acquisitions must always be made in a manner that abide by the regulations in acquisition law. That is why it is important, not only for public corporations, but also suppliers of goods and services (companies) to have a good understanding of the acquisition process. We at Tammer-Juristit supply strong acquisition law know-how to government corporations as well as to suppliers of goods and services.
