Government acquisitions are goods-, services- and construction contacts that a state, municipalities, municipal federations, the church, congregations, state owned corporations and other procurement departments that are named in procurement law, purchase outside of their own organization.

The Finnish government´s acquisitions are regulated in acquisition law. In the European Union acquisitions are regulated by acquisition directives.
